Building bridges with leaders & community members, keeping relationships positive, and looking for common ground to get things done and improve the quality of life for the people of the Pajaro Valley

Meet Felipe

I was born and raised in Watsonville in a home my parents were able to buy with my mother’s job at Richard Shaw Cannery and my father's job picking apples for Pecchenino Farms. They made sure my siblings and I grew up knowing the value of a hard-earned dollar, education, and the importance of giving back. I graduated from Watsonville High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served our country in Desert Storm. When I came home I attended UC Santa Cruz earning a degree in community studies. I went from serving my country to serving my community by working as a community organizer, serving on various boards and commissions, and later being elected Watsonville City Council, Mayor, and Cabrillo College Trustee.

I’ve worked to bring people together to protect our community from Covid-19, improve educational opportunities for our youth, made streets safer with lighted crosswalks and bike lanes, brought jobs to Watsonville, added housing for families and seniors, secured long-term funding for the Watsonville Fire and Police Department, and built the region’s best skatepark and BMX track.

Now I am running for Supervisor because we need a leader who’s known for delivering results by building bridges and positive relationships among community members and elected officials. I look forward to meeting you and earning your support!
